Stripping, like most industries, has its own lingo. Terms we use, that to everyday clients mean very little; such as toppy, raunchy and toy girl. To the newcomer, or first-time client, navigating your way through the myriad of shows on offer can be a minefield. So we are going to explain this in simple terms for you.

Strippers, or showgirls as they are sometimes referred, can be divided into two groups. ‘Raunchy Girls’ or ‘Toy Girls’.

Raunchy girls only perform R-rated shows (more about the types of shows later), whereas toy girls will perform all shows, up to and including XXX-Rated. However, you should keep in mind, most toy girls prefer doing X-Rated shows. It pays better, and after all, this is a job.

So what is an R-rated show, how is it different to X-rated?

Shows, like strippers, are again divided into two main groups; R-rated and X-Rated. Forget price, the main difference between the two groups is show length and content. R-rated shows typically go 15mins and are a strip down to full nude, with open leg viewing. No more, no less; with some variations.

X-Rated shows typically go 30mins, always includes some form of sex toy use in the show as well as everything included in an R-rated show. 

Now we come to XXX-Rated shows. Giving a show a XXX rating is more or less a courtesy to advise clients the show is much more extreme than the average show. Choosing the right show for your function can be tough, as is choosing the right stripper. Don’t be afraid to ask questions when contacting an agency.

Something that all clients (and potential clients) should be aware of, is the new-wave of self-proclaimed ‘XXX Strippers’.

With the advent of the internet and various social networking tools, it is now far easier for any stripper to set up shop for herself, eradicating the need to work with an agency. This doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing, but… Buyer beware, there are a few things you should consider.
